Maureen Mitchell has more than 25 years of executive-level experience in the investment management industry. She retired from GE in December 2016 and is currently a Senior Advisor with the Boston Consulting Group. From 2009 to July 2016, Maureen was President, Global Sales and Marketing at GE Asset Management, Inc., and was a key member of the senior leadership team, operations committee, and chair of the Women’s Network. Responsibilities at GEAM included managing global distribution, client service and product development, as well as fund governance, administration, and regulatory compliance for the firm’s mutual fund business. She was instrumental in the successful transition of GEAM assets to State Street Global Advisers, which acquired GEAM in July 2016.
Maureen has extensive experience serving on corporate, fund and non-profit boards of directors, including past or present board memberships with the Investment Company Institute’s (ICI) Board of Governors, Sterling Bancorp, Fieldpoint Private, She’s the First, Inc., the 21st Century Foundation for City College of New York, and Investcorp Strategic Capital.
Prior to joining GEAM, Maureen was Global Head of Distribution at Highland Capital Management. From 1998 to 2008 she was a Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Institutional Sales and Client Service at Bear Stearns Asset Management. Maureen has also held vice president positions at Scudder Kemper and U.S. Trust Company. She holds a BA from the City College of New York and an MSW from Fordham University.
